About the Place

Kewzing, also known as Sosing, translates to "land of wheat fields" in the local Bhutia language, while Sosing refers to the "land of chestnut forests." This quaint village is home to just 200 residents, predominantly from the Sikkimese Bhutia community, and is blessed with unspoiled natural beauty. With zero pollution and an abundance of greenery, Kewzing is also a haven for exotic birds, offering a unique experience for nature lovers.

The village is surrounded by sacred Buddhist monasteries, including Tashiding Monastery to the west, Ralong and Ravangla Monasteries to the southeast, Doling Monastery to the east, and Bon Monastery to the north, adding a spiritual charm to its serene atmosphere.

How to Reach Kewzing Village

Kewzing village is conveniently located just 9 km southwest of Ravangla, along the main road connecting Ravangla and Legship. It is easily accessible from key destinations in Sikkim, including Gangtok to the east, Namchi to the south, and Pelling to the west.

For travellers arriving by air or rail, Kewzing is approximately 140 km from Bagdogra Airport and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, with a scenic drive of about 4 hours to reach this peaceful village retreat.
